However, that notion is changing as more students enroll in higher education later in life, taking longer to complete their <a href=\"https:\/\/americanbusinesscouncil.net\/economic-trends-for-students\/\" >https:\/\/americanbusinesscouncil.net\/economic-trends-for-students\/<\/a> studies and work outside of their major field of study (Hittepole, 2018).\n<\/p>\n<p>The cost of tuition is rising and students today are racking up more debt. Many students are struggling to reach their financial goals, and relying on social programs, such as food stamps. As a result, less of them are buying homes or establishing small businesses. Moreover, they are less likely to start the next phase of their lives as a family.\n<\/p>\n<p>As the economies of the world continue to expand, it&#8217;s crucial that educational systems align more closely with local economic development initiatives and goals. This will ensure that the abilities that are developed by the education system of a country are relevant to the jobs in the area.\n<\/p>\n<p>The good news is that the positive relationship between education and economic growth extends far beyond the high school level. A bachelor&#8217;s degree holder is expected to spend an extra $278,000 over their lifetime in direct spending than someone with a high-school diploma.
