We received mixed responses on if a woman should wait until she is found or actively pursue finding a man. But most agreed that a woman should tell a guy how she feels! We learned from our Millennial Men that guys aren\u2019t mind-readers and sometimes women have to be more direct. Another option is to subtly show interest and put themselves in the position to be found if that\u2019s what they\u2019d prefer.<\/p>\n
28% of Millennials have sent a sext, and 67% have received one, leading to a trend of digital intimacy in their relationships. 36% of single Millennials still live at home with their parents, making dating more challenging for them. This statistic is a telling indication of the importance Millennials place on dating. It shows that they are willing to invest a significant amount of money into their relationships, suggesting that they value them highly.<\/p>\n
Millennials are afraid of commitment for a couple of reasons, in general. Firstly, the hookup culture is one that promotes moving on quickly. Secondly, many millennials simply are not at an age yet where they want to settle down. They\u2019re still young so want to date a lot of people at that moment in their life. Whereas baby boomers had to rely on the archaic landline telephone, modern technology has moved us into an era where a phone call is almost a thing of the past, and texting has taken precedent.<\/p>\n
Attitudes to cheating and open relationships are more liberal than before. As many people (43%) want a monogamous relationship as a non-monogamous relationship. What we lack in emotional availability we promise to make up for with sexual insatiability. If you want us to be more accessible, take pride in your work and take a genuine interest in ours. It\u2019s sexy to have passion for a career that fulfills you.<\/p>\n
If they don\u2019t have similar feelings, you might waste your time and your emotions. While you skim through various dating profiles, make sure you don\u2019t judge too hard. If you swipe right only based on their photos or fancy terms, that\u2019ll bite you back later.<\/p>\n
And sometimes, having a partner just doesn’t fit into the equation. So perhaps millennial women who aren’t keen on having children early, or ever, prefer to date older men who might be more on the same page rather than younger men who might rush them into starting a family. “Millennials are looking to date someone who is older; as with age comes maturity and also the connotation of having your life together,” Moujaes said. “Dating someone older can be seen as a fast-track route into leading a stable life, which for a lot of millennials is enticing.”<\/p>\n
When asked where they typically meet a person who they end up going on a date with, 22% of seniors responded \u201cout and about in public.\u201d Only 13% of millennials stated they meet dates the same way. That means every time I log on, post a video, or respond to a comment, I\u2019m a real-life example of what being a woman in STEM looks like. I have the power to encourage and uplift women like me, who might feel discouraged from pursuing the kind of career I choose to pursue. Historically, dating has been used as a method of finding companionship and, let\u2019s be honest, a way to have sex.<\/p>\n

Most millennials have single parents or saw someone close\u2019s breakup. They lost faith in love and marriage which leads to their trust issues and love for casual flings.<\/p>\n
